Dawei Veterinary Medical x Jiawen Pet Hospital Charity Event
Release Time:2023-01-12 16:50

With the economic development in recent years, the number of pet owners has been steadily increasing. Pets have transitioned from being 'guardians of the home' to 'family members.' More and more pet owners consider their pets as emotional companions. However, unlike humans, pets cannot express their feelings accurately through language. Therefore, regular check-ups are essential for pets.

To encourage pet owners to focus on pet health and scientific pet care, on January 8, Dawei Pet Medical partnered with Jiawen Pet Hospital to launch the Pet Guardian Program charity event. This event provided free ultrasound examinations for pets, supporting pet health.

Animal ultrasound examinations, as a non-radiative imaging method, play a crucial role in diagnosing various diseases in animal clinical practice. Ultrasound has become an indispensable diagnostic tool for gastrointestinal diseases, heart diseases, urinary system diseases, and more. In recent years, the popularity of ultrasound in animal clinics has significantly increased, and its usage frequency has gradually risen, providing a new method for diagnosing diseases in countless beloved pets.

The charity event used the Dawei Pet Dual-Screen Mobile Color Doppler Ultrasound T5-VET, equipped with a comprehensive measurement software package. This ultrasound machine effectively addresses the diagnostic and examination needs in areas such as the digestive system, reproductive system, urinary system, and heart for pet hospitals and research institutions. During the event, the primary focus was on examining the heart and abdominal organs of the visiting pets.

The T5-VET Pet Color Doppler ultrasound features the AUTO TRACE function for Doppler spectrum, which automatically and precisely envelopes the spectrum, providing hemodynamic parameters like pressure, heart rate, and resistance index. This functionality allows veterinarians to make accurate assessments. Heart disease is a common ailment in pets, with the most prevalent type in dogs being degenerative valve disease, accounting for 75% of cases, mainly affecting small breeds aged 5 and above. Heartworm disease makes up 13%, and cardiomyopathy 8%, primarily affecting large breeds. In cats, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is the most common, accounting for 80% of cases. Heart disease is often asymptomatic in the early stages, known as the latent period. By the time symptoms like coughing, difficulty breathing, and pulmonary edema appear, the condition has already progressed to congestive heart failure. Therefore, regular check-ups for pets are essential.

Furthermore, during the color Doppler ultrasound examination of the pet's abdominal organs, it has been noted that many pets have bladder crystals or stones. The veterinarians at Jiawen Pet Hospital have provided appropriate advice for addressing this issue.
